Colin Sproul nominated as NDP candidate in Annapolis

PARADISE – Colin Sproul won a contested nomination on Sunday for the NDP nomination in the Annapolis district.  Sproul, a fisherman and spokesperson for the Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishers’ Association, won the nomination against Cheryl Burbidge, a nurse at Valley Regional Hospital. Sproul lives in Litchfield with his son.

“I look forward to earning the support of the people of our district. Annapolis county is a great place to live and to raise a family, but we need a government willing to actually invest in building rural Nova Scotia,” said Sproul. “I’m excited to join Gary Burrill’s NDP team.”

“The people of Annapolis have never been so disappointed in our local MLA as they are now,” said Sproul. “Premier McNeil isn’t listening to the people of Annapolis county. People are fed up with the high levels of inequality and lack of opportunities in our province.”

“Colin Sproul will bring all the gifts he has brought to his work as spokesperson for the Bay of Fundy Inshore Fisherman’s Association, to his work as the representative of the people of Annapolis,” said NDP Leader Gary Burrill. “Colin is a person of character and diligence, and is an outstanding candidate for this constituency for the NDP.”
